Dorothy Heffernan, Ph.D. (Strath), C.Psychol., member of the Pet Professional Guild, World Bitless Association endorsed trainer.
Dorothy has been at the forefront of positive reinforcement equine training in Scotland for over a decade, creating a Scotland-wide supportive network of horse trainers and carers.
With a lifetime of experience caring for horses, Dorothy has specialised in working with equines as a trainer and behaviour consultant for over 15 years. She uses her background in Psychology and her subsequent training in equine behaviour to deliver an insightful, empathetic, and science-based approach to provide invaluable expert support for equine-human partnerships'.
Dorothy continues to enjoy learning new techniques and applications in this exciting and rapidly developing training specialism. She particularly enjoys helping people train their horses to be ridden bitless, and loves the challenge of helping worried and frightened horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.
